I've been working on this sort of thing for a while now - I had a career in IT which I fell away from and eventually emigrated because I wanted to create something and there weren't the resources back then to make anything of interest.

I wasn't an IT professional, I wasn't a programmer, I wasn't a computer technician. I was a frustrated author.

When I was 13 years old, I was writing an essay homework for a History assignment, and I had taken about two hours writing before my parents objected and told me that was long enough. This was a shock - up to that point, those two hours had me in my own world, creating lives and events, drawing a story from the nothing but an idea, and that world was, for me, more important than anything I had ever done before or since. The destruction of that story was the greatest loss in my life. The history essay was simply the story of the capturing of a mammoth by driving it down a man-made corridor into a hole. Nothing of any great interest, but at 13 years old I was devastated.

I still want to tell a story, create something, use my imagination for more that just seeing the universe as a sparkly grey goo destined to death by entropy.

We'll see. More later.

Well, it's later and there's much more to tell regarding the Lump. You'll find the admin confessions stories elsewhere on the board.
